On the 06th March 2013, Inokom has embarked on another milestone to further expand its automotive networking with the globally renowned automotive producer, Mazda Motor Corporation, Japan. The Mazda Bodyshop Officiating Ceremony was officiated by Mr. Seita Kanai, Executive Vice President of Mazda Motor Corporation, Japan joined by En. Mohd Rizal Bin Jailan, Managing Director of Inokom Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Mr. Shinji Sakatani, President of Mazda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. witnessed by Tuan Syed Mudzhar Syed Ali, Director Operations, Malaysia Region, Dato’ Ben Yeoh Choon San, Chief Executive Officer, Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Francis Lee Kok Chuen, Dato’ Amer Hamzah Ahmed, both are Executive Directors of Bermaz Motor Sdn. Bhd.
The Mazda Bodyshop started construction in July 2012 and completed in Oct 2012. Since its completion, the Mazda Bodyshop with its dimension of 4,800 sq mtr were installed with the body welding jigs and guns together with electrical facilities to start the production of Mazda CX-5. After several months of an extensive training undergone by the Inokom Operators, with the close supervision by Mazda Motor Technical Assistants, the maiden unit had been successfully assembled. This unit was exported to Thailand in Feb 2013 for technical evaluation prior to the export mass production.
Retrospectively, Inokom has been assembling Mazda 3 model consisting of 4 variants (1.6L/2.0L, Hatch Back/ Sedan) in Jan 2011. Therefore, the production of Mazda CX-5 shall mark the high confidence shown by Mazda Motor Corporation, Japan to Inokom assembly plant.
Inokom as one of the regional hub for the assembling of Mazda models in Asean Region is looking forward to assembling more models and variants in the future to spread our wings and credentials in the export markets.
