Inokom Plant Creates History with Production of the First BMW
Sime Darby Motors Division chartered another milestone when its Inokom Plant in Kulim, Kedah rolled out the first BMW car on 11 September 2008. The historic occasion was witnessed by Walter Fassbinder from BMW Germany, Mathias Heimann, Managing Director of Auto Bavaria, and Tuan Syed Mudzhar, Inokom Chief Executive Officer. Also present at the event were the BMW Project Team, as well as staff of Inokom.
In his opening speech, Mr. Fassbinder congratulated Inokom for successfully ensuring that the first BMW unit was assembled on schedule. He was impressed with the high quality of work demonstrated by the BMW Project team, a statement echoed by Tuan Syed Mudzhar. “This would not have been achieved without the remarkable teamwork and collaboration effort by everyone. Projects like these will ensure our success in bringing to life our corporate promise”. Initiated in October 2007, the BMW project team not only succeeded in putting up the assembly line, they also began assembling BMW 5-series and 3-series a year later. The team is committed to delivering their best in order to bring satisfaction to the customers through quality, speed and passion in their work.
